Formed in 1987, the school is run by a dedicated and passionate group of parent volunteers.  At La Petite Ecole, children aged 3*-16 years old with a least of native French speaking parent can improve their confidence in and enjoyment of French in a fun and educational setting.

Our classes have between 8-10 children and are organised by age and the French level of the children. Our small classes create a supportive atmosphere where pupils can gain confidence in speaking with other children, guided by professional teachers.

Since 2016, LPE has also introduced new classes for older children in order to prepare them for the DELF A2, B1 and B2

Our lessons have lots of student participation through a number of activities (games, songs, stories, reading, crafts) whilst also increasing their reading skills, vocabulary and grammar.

Children also learn about France and the French-speaking work through their culture, geography, history and traditions.

French becomes not just something that happens at home, but a relevant part of the outside world!

Classes take place during the school year on Tuesday afternoons online between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in sessions of one hour per class in reduced numbers to encourage student attention, or in person teaching on Saturday mornings between 9:15 am and 1:30 pm in the premises of St Georges School, per session of two hours per class.

La Petite École is a place to have fun, practice French and make new friends, for children and parents alike.
